Hi there,
And Just Hold on here… With that,
Nobody at Seeed Screwed anyone. ![]()
By who,
It’s still being Sold?
Your trying to say because YOU
didn’t know the Super was out or if it supported said mode. ?
Was it ? , Just Unlucky ?
really, You don’t suppose maybe a TAD on you not to have checked and done a little research, even Nvidia announced with a caveat with early reference design carrier boards.
I even posted something about the clones etc, back then so there was ample information available to find.
Then there was this ,
Pretty much answers your question , NO?
I have to LOL
, that you throw some shade at the guy and wonder why he’s hasn’t answered, I didn’t want to leave you hanging so.
maybe if you ask without the Drama and insult,
Seeed is a Chinese company, and like most Asian cultures, respect is paramount. Let’s keep our feedback constructive and professional — it helps everyone, including Seeed’s engineers, who are here to improve the ecosystem with us. , Just saying.
I see so many posts where folks take liberties and think no one will be offended.

Hi PJ,
Let me address your points:
“Nobody at Seeed Screwed anyone” - They’re selling a board that can’t handle JetPack 6.2’s 40W mode, withholding the update from customers while releasing a “fixed” carrier board. That’s screwing customers who expected ongoing support.
“YOU didn’t know the Super was out” - You mean Seeed’s improved carrier board? The one they made because the original can’t handle 40W? Nowhere on the product page did it say “This board will become obsolete with JetPack 6.2.” That’s a material omission.
“TAD on you not to have checked” - Check what exactly? I bought it 3-4 weeks ago. How could any customer have known they were buying soon-to-be-deprecated hardware?
“throwing shade” - I asked politely three times while offering to PAY MORE for their fix: “Dear @Seeed_Kevin, could you please answer the question?” If that’s drama, then I’m not sure what constructive feedback looks like. Meanwhile you’re here white-knighting for a company that ghosts paying customers.
“respect is paramount” - Respect goes both ways. Where’s the respect in ignoring customers who discovered they can’t get updates? Using “Asian culture” to excuse sh*t customer service is patronizing to Asian businesses that actually honor their customers. Real respect would be acknowledging the limitation and offering upgrade paths, not hiding behind cultural stereotypes.
Oh and your crystal ball failed, @Seeed_Kevin hasn’t logged in for a while, so it was not my post but probably he’s on holidays, that’s why I involved other Seed’s staff.
@Seeed_Kevin response - He confirmed the product can’t support 6.2 but offered zero solutions for existing customers. That’s confirmation of the problem, not resolution (except of course: Get ready to spend another grand!).
“NOTICED” - Yes, we certainly noticed. Noticed the 40W limitation, noticed the silent product revision, noticed the lack of support, and now noticed that pointing this out is somehow considered inappropriate. Thanks for noticing us noticing. Really helpful contribution there, champ.
I’m simply asking for what any customer deserves: either ongoing software support or an upgrade path.

Hello,
Thank you very much for taking the time to provide detailed feedback on your questions and dissatisfaction regarding the reComputer J401 and its related support. We attach great importance to every issue you have raised, and we are fully aware that this experience has not met your expectations—we sincerely apologize for this.
Regarding your concern about the reComputer J401’s support for the 40W Super mode, we first need to clarify the core situation: This reComputer J401 motherboard cannot support the 40W Super mode due to hardware design specification limitations. The root cause of this limitation is that when this motherboard was developed and produced, JetPack 6.2 and the corresponding software specifications for the 40W mode had not yet been released, so the hardware design did not incorporate adaptation requirements for this power mode. After JetPack 6.2 was launched later, we found that the existing hardware could not achieve 40W mode compatibility through software updates; therefore, we cannot provide support for this mode for this motherboard.
If you need to update to JetPack 6.2 to use the Super mode, you may refer to our wiki. However, please note that you will bear full responsibility for any damage or risks that may occur during this process.

In response to the issues you mentioned—such as “hiding updates,” “product pages failing to indicate obsolescence risks,” and “lack of solutions”—we would like to respond openly and honestly:
We have added relevant notes in some product pages; please refer to the image below for details. Currently, the only recommendation we can make is for you to purchase our Super version of the J401. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.
Regarding “customer support responsiveness”: The reason you did not receive a timely and complete solution despite your multiple inquiries earlier is due to a change in our business responsibilities. Kevin is no longer in charge of this area, and his current tasks are being handed over to our team. We sincerely apologize for failing to provide you with feedback in a timely manner.
Respect is indeed a two-way street, and the constructive feedback you have provided is an important driving force for us to optimize our products and services. We apologize again for this subpar experience and thank you for your long-term attention and supervision of Seeed.
Dear @seeed_lorraine
Thank you for your answer, that’s what I had tought, that he had left for holidays or the company, and that was the reason of not answering us. That’s why I’ve tagged you along.
I do understand the situation with the design and that’s ok, it happens. That’s why I asked for further steps, as I wrote above, I am willing to buy the fixed carrier board if you make that option possible.
I do have multiple projects with Seed devices, CV with the Xiaos Sense, LoRA communication, etc. I do like the brand, and those are quite good products.
Well, that said, I already found the Wave board, but I would like to see, if is possible to get the super board, to mount there my ORIN NX ![]()
This Orin is for my home lab, so I can’t afford buying the whole thing again (1100 EUR with taxes), specially because I also bought already the Wifi, RTC and 512Gb SSD for this board.
Thank you again for your assistance and your time,
Best regards,
C.
Hi there,
@seeed_loraraine, Thank you for supporting everyone so well. Complex products and the fast pace of technology it is hard for some users to keep up.
We know it can be frustrating and can bring out the less informed i.e. “Joined 4 days ago Read 41m
” demanding and complaining,
you handle it well.
much respect ![]()

PJ, seriously, get a life ![]()
Activate some of your neurons - “joined 4 days ago” because I only create accounts on forums when I NEED help, not to accumulate forum points and bootlick like you. I’ve been running multiple projects with Seeed products for years without needing to post because things actually WORKED.
You think “joined 4 days ago” means inexperienced? It means I had better things to do than hang around forums playing hall monitor. Unlike you, I don’t measure my worth in forum badges and ass-kissing comments.
“Demanding and complaining”? Says the guy whose entire personality is defending companies on forums. At least I’m here trying to solve actual problems instead of jerking off to my own “helpful” comments while contributing absolutely nothing.
“Much respect” for what exactly? Being a professional bootlicker? Mocking people who need help? Having so little going on in your life that you patrol forums to white-knight for companies that don’t even know you exist?
I created an account when I had a problem. You apparently live here. And you think I’M the one who needs to be “informed”?
Touch grass, PJ. Seriously.

Hi coloboxp,
Thank you for sharing your concerns and needs in such detail once again. We fully understand your frustration when project progress is delayed due to team members being on vacation or out of office, and we truly appreciate you tagging us promptly to address the issue—this allowed us to focus on your needs in a more timely manner.
Regarding the hardware limitation that prevents the reComputer J401 from supporting the 40W mode, as you kindly acknowledged, it is indeed because JetPack 6.2 and the corresponding 40W specifications had not yet been released during the device’s development phase. This resulted in a hardware design that cannot be adapted to the 40W mode through subsequent software updates, and we deeply regret this inconvenience. To fully resolve such performance requirements, we later launched the “Super” version, which supports high-power modes through a fully optimized hardware solution (including improved power management and thermal design). However, we recognize that this does not directly address the challenges you face with your existing device.
You may send an email to our technical support team at [email protected], and we will assist you with the relevant after-sales process. Additionally, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for your long-standing trust in Seeed—from computer vision (CV) projects with Xiaos Sense to LoRA communication initiatives, your continued choice of our products is a great source of encouragement for us. We will take your feedback to further refine our product planning and customer support processes, and work to prevent communication gaps from impacting your experience in the future.
Thank you again for your understanding and patience. We look forward to providing you with a smoother and more effective solution.
Hi PJ,
Thank you so much for your warm recognition and understanding—your words truly mean a great deal and give our team a lot of motivation!
It’s true that when facing complex tech products and the fast-paced evolution of technology, it’s inevitable for people to feel overwhelmed at times. That’s why we always strive to do our best to patiently help every user sort out their issues, whether they’re new to the field or experienced users. Having friends like you who understand the challenges of this industry makes our support work feel even more meaningful, and your recognition continues to inspire us to refine our services further.
Going forward, we will keep up our patience and help everyone resolve their problems in a clear and straightforward way. We also wish your projects every success—please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions in the future!
Best regards,
@seeed_lorraine
Hello seeed_lorraine,
I have been following this thread in the background and I am wondering if there has been any resolution to the reComputer Super J4012 not supporting Super MAXN mode due to the board’s inability to provide the required 40W. I want to understand the following
Hey msprauve,
They have released a new board that is capable of handling the super mode/
So far I haven’t seen the board being sold without a jetson module though.
In one of Seeed_Kevin’s posts there was a document shared with information about the
