Welcome! to the Forum
New here. I guess I need to post here 1st
And why don’t these clowns clearly describe this requirement anywhere? I registered exactly to be able to ask a question in this forum and then at first I was stumped, why that is not possible and what the purpose of this forum was at all. Only searching for why I can’t append anywhere brought up this thread. ||-(
Been there. Done that. Give it a couple of days and you’ll be okay!
(note my post just above yours)
Commenting here so I can post a thread about the ePaper Driver Board V2 and battery charging.
It’s widely known that forums generally expect some level of “interaction” before allowing posts as a means to combat “bot” and “spam” activity. ![]()
… widely known that forums generally expect some level of “interaction” before allowing posts…
“generally“, really? I have joined many, many fora for professional and private activities over the last 35+ years and that’s the first one where I encountered this requirement. Normally the confirmation of a link in some registration emaiI was enough.
I guess this is a (relatively) new attempt to counter-fight AI-supported spammers which are likely able to handle that circle automatically.
Well, I am now over the hurdle. Let’s see when I encounter that approach again…
Yeah - I was tossing up “fora” as a plural for forum but it seems the “s” approach is more widely accepted ![]()
Fair point.
I haven’t joined that many fora/forums but have noticed of late that those using the same or similar host software as this site (eg Discourse?) have the (optional?) credibility checks in place. I should have been more accurate - thanks ![]()
This is an introduction post… Looking to create a thread.
Welcome!
Have fun!
post 20 or more characters… lol
Ok it took a while to figure out why there’s no post button
I’m replying here so that I can make a post for my ESP32-C6 <> Waveshare woes..
I do sincerely apologise for the repeated replies.. Just trying to get the ability to post. Almost done writing my question for help which I’ll submit either tonight or tomorrow.
Hi there,
Welcome here.
And HOLD the "smart A " comments , that will certainly get you booted.
This it a Chinese companies support website, RESPECT is paramount. If you intend to get Quality support, don’t come at it like that, or you won’t.
If you know anything about forums, including this one, they can be hacked and HAVE, hence the measures, Fake accounts and Spammers for adds.
@grobasoz gave you the rundown pretty much..
stick with it.
Post your question in an A LIKE topic, after you have some forum cred the Topic button will be available. It’s a great resource and as you see lots of smart folks here to help.

Commenting because I apparently have.for posting access.
Thanks, that explains it. I’ll read through a few topics first and try again after the forum trust level updates.
This is the sort of post that needs pinning at the top of everywhere.
Seems like a nice forum! Better then the Discord regarding the amount of bots. Just that the process to get admitted is a bit tedious haha. Wonder if there are better ways to rope folks in, but also not give the bots a chance to get a foothold.
…. if you give just a little amount of effort to only read a few posts it will automaticly level you up soon… also if you add a little extra info in your profile, if you do so and PM me i will manually level you up if i sent you here from Discord… somewhere here PJ explained what the actual amount of work is needed… Welcome (also, China is 12 hours ahead of us… so it can be a slow boat that requires patience)
… Wel that doesnt seem entirely accurate… I had well over an hour of read time… in well over 30 posts…. but had no real reason to reply to a post… even though I had a new question… So after posting a single reply in here I levelled up…. I feel like many people might be in that boat… So just patience sometimes isn’t enough… Leaving a little reply in here is a great way out…. and shows they read the forum enough to realise this…
thanks for that update!
