Hello xiao category,

I come here to learn about how to post. This is my second reply in what appears to be a three reply threshold before new users can post something new. I searched for my topic but didn’t find it. So, I shall wait several minutes between each of my three replies so I can get the power to start a new thread.

I also just learned that a post has to be at least 20 characters or else it pops up a red message saying that you have to use at least 20 characters. This “About the XIAO category” thread is a treasure trove of information. Apparently there’s also a heart button somewhere. That was the second sentence in the red message. It wanted to know if you had ever used it.

Some posts above say different things about how to get the posting button. They must have changed over time. In my case, I did three replies here, liked a bunch of replies here (about getting the post button, so they were real likes), uploaded a picture, added a bio blurb, snooped around the forum, replied to different post. After that, I got “trust” level. But, no button. I logged out, logged back in. There was the post button. This place feels like a Discourse forum. Everything is gamified. Well, anyway, it took a lot of doing, but I can now post a new thread. I assume. I didn’t try it yet. I had to pop back in here and tell my long story for future travellers. :slight_smile:

I think Discourse forum software was made by people who hate forum users. I don’t know why webmasters go with it. Every forum I’ve been on that uses Discourse has a million comments like yours from people who just want to ask a question, not put down roots and raise a family.

I want to post a new thread as well! I have trouble with my new XIAO nRF52840 & Wio-SX1262 Kit, not receiving anything. Newest firmware, no error-output, config is triple-checked and fine. I even bought a shiny new antenna. The kit behaves as there was no antenna connected. So no nodes are found, except the device itself. I am using long fast and EU_868.

Important note: “txPower”: 13 is the correct value for max. antenna-output with lora in germany. The firmware has a wrong (higher!) preset, when choosing EU_868. The wrong preset violates government-restrictions! Firmware is: 2.7.26.54e0d8d. The programmers confused the units dBm and mW (milli-watts).

I use client dot meshtastic dot org to communicate with my device over wifi. In category “nodes” the webseite always shows an SNR of “0 dB 50%”. My device is a SEEED_XIAO_S3. I also can connect with the program gtk-meshtastic-client over serial or show device-output with minicom over the same serial-port /dev/ttyACM0. As you can see: I am using a linux-computer for connections. No strange output so far: My device just doesn’t recieve anything.
