Xiao vbus breakout

The xiao is advertised as being usable as a USB host. However, I can’t figure out how to provide power on the vbus line. There’s a diode between that and 5v, so I can’t power it that way. Is vbus broken out anywhere else on the board that I’m missing?

Hi @beowulfe, The diode is on forward bias, so it can provide power from USB VBUS to the XIAO inbuilt VREG. Is that you mentioned!

I just got USB host working thanks in part to your question. I ended up soldering an extra wire off my USB cable’s power line, and plugging it into 5V on my breadboard to bypass the diode. After doing that the USB host library worked great.

It seems like an hardware bug: the USB enable usb host is assigned a pin in the board layout, but not wired up to anything. Replacing the LED with a jumper would probably work fine, but the LED is tiny so I went with the easier method.
