Looking at the schematics, there is no fuse between the li-ion battery (VBAT) and the module.
I added a resettable fuse between the li-ion battery and VBAT, but it’s not ideal:
- fast charging doesn’t work properly (max 60mA instead of 100mA)
- the voltage on P0.31_AIN7_BAT will be slightly incorrect
The li-ion battery I use does have an internal protection circuit, with a shortcircuit detection of >3A, which is way too high.
Does the LDO (3.3V regulator) have builtin shortcircuit protection? I can’t seem to find the part number.
So my question is, do I need to add a fuse for safe 24/7 operation?
