Xiao NRF54L15 early adoption issues

There’s a stack of issues with the current state of the SDK, and board definitions for this module currently.

The decision to drop the external flash memory has made it very difficult to adapt the matter application samples that are one of the primary draws of this product.

As far as I can tell, even basic peripheral support is currently limited as nobody has written or ported drivers here yet.

This is untouched frontier territory to explore, and maybe even a blessing in disguise, as having a cheaper, but slightly more constrained design space still has its merits.

But in general I’m pretty frustrated with this product.

The community has been able to make a bit of progress in using these, but I know a bunch of us also have boards in what is currently an unrecoverable state, as clear instructions on how to properly clear the protection of the memory and mass erase the Flash to restore the MCU boot setup are not yet available.

Hi there,

As we (You & I) suspected it is starting to show up , more info weekly  This RRAM is cool, No bulk erase or anything close to the PITA for Flash and It’s non-volatile like flash. Probably why reading and writing will be different.
also this Trust Zone business getting in the way if you don’t have the build environment sorted… man a lot of stuff in there to go in here :point_right: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
it’s like how the Python eats the Elephant, ONE bite at a time
I’m hopeful a number of things will be addressed / Tweaked on the next Rev.:crossed_fingers:

The rep tells me there are more pretty cool Matter/ Thread examples coming, Super low power ones. I’m awake, polishing the metal.
The newer SoftDevice coming too is supposed to be the :bomb:Bomb-Diddly YO! :grinning:

Someone is smart putting it out just enough to feed the tech junkie in most…bastids…LOL
