I have a xiao esp32c6 on order, and I’m wondering if it is save to cut of the half-hole soldering along the edges to make it even smaller? I assume this is save, unless there is some intermediate layer with connections between the half hole and the full holes. But I would have no way of knowing if that is the case or not.
Hi there,
I would say No at first Look, However under microscope I see you could probably get away with turning the through holes into Castellated halves,
Go for it…

you are more adventurous than I was planning for, as I was planning on leaving the holes in tact and just remove the half ones.
How can you know with a microscope that you are not cutting some connection in a multi layered pcb, unless of course it isn’t a multi layer.
Hi there,
It is reported to be a multilayer, so Idunno what the outcome would be? Maybe use a shear to get a precise cut through?
