I’m trying to understand how the T2000-c works. Goal is to use to track moves of an animal. I have setup it as to send data when it detects move and also to send a ping alive every 3 hours.
But whatever I do, if I let it quiet on a shelf, it goes off after a while (even if it still has plenty of battery). I can’t find any settings in the Sensecraft app to prevent that.
Do I miss something obvious there ?
The T2000-C is up to date for firmware according at Sensecraft app.
Check the Active Work Mode: In the Sensecraft configuration via Bluetooth, check if your device is running in Motion Mode or Periodic Mode. If it is locked strictly to a motion-based mode, it may ignore the 3-hour ping entirely if it registers absolutely zero acceleration over a specific threshold. Switching the base behavior to a hybrid or purely periodic mode can keep the internal timer awake.
Enable the 3-Axis Accelerometer in Deep Sleep: According to Seeed’s documentation, the 3-axis accelerometer can actually be toggled to stay operational or shut off entirely during deep sleep. Ensure the accelerometer sensor is fully enabled and configured with an appropriate sensitivity threshold for your animal tracking use case so that even a slight shift wakes it immediately.
The “Shelf” Gotcha (Data Caching): If the tracker is resting indoors on a shelf, it is likely losing its GNSS (GPS) lock. If a LoRaWAN gateway is out of reach or the GPS fails to acquire a satellite position fix within its timeout window, the device will cache up to 1,000 records internally and go back to sleep to save power rather than wasting battery indefinitely searching for a signal.
Try testing it in a window or outdoors where it can successfully resolve its initial position, or temporarily shorten the ping interval to 10–15 minutes just to observe if it sustains communication while resting flat.
Look at that and report back , I have an E but no “C”
Hi Vincèn, could you please share screenshots of the complete configuration pages of your T2000-C in the SenseCraft App? This will help us better understand your current settings and investigate the issue. Additionally, could you please clarify what you mean by ‘it goes off’? Does the device offline completely or just stop sending uplinks?
Yeah I have already putted it outside with clear view of sky but I’m still not sure how it wakes up and why sometimes I’m unable to wake it up even using the magnet (or battery is very weak inside).
