I got 2 T1000-e with 2.4.2, configured them (following the good videos) and enjoyed the first hikes with collecting GPS waypoints. GPS location was correctly collected, added to location log and shown on device map.
Got surprised by the default sharing of location (via public channel) and fixed accordingly to Configuration Tips | Meshtastic > so far - so good.
Then flashed one unit to 2.5.14 (including erasing the flash with nrf_erase_sd7_3.uf2) - but since then the GPS is off by 2.7+ km - AND the line in the position log is overwritten (instead appended) > only the last line is visible.
Downgraded in multiple steps to 2.5.8 (erasing the flash every time) … but the GPS is off by 2.7+ km.
Why did you flash it? is that a recommended update a “FOMO” update? You said it was working well?
I would restore it back to ver 2.4.2 and test again Looks like your walking again
Hi PJ
Thank you for your advice!
Where would I find the 2.4.2 firmware download?
(The oldest on the flasher was 2.5.8 - and I fear self- compiling 2.4.2 from GitHub will cause even further damage )
I just unboxed and tested two Trakers T1000-E with what I think is the latest stable firmware (2.7.15.567b8ea), and I’m having the same problem described in this post of the coordinates being about 3 km off.
Does anyone have advice on how to troubleshoot this issue?
Thanks!
After exploring all possible configurations, I realized that the default channel (LongFast) has precise positioning disabled. After enabling it, all works as expected.
