My starting thread says everything

Hi there,

So that looks like it is WORKING correctly to me? Break down you development enviro , what OS , what Firmwares , etc for the devices in question. That looks pretty darn good to me are the A’s a data point that is saved what’s in there?

I could send a drone with those Coordinates relayed and Drop your Xmas present on your head with that accuracy…

sounds like a problem on your end boss, maybe try talking nice to it

Check the device documentation for a specific button combination (usually holding a button while connecting via USB).

double click the magnetic connector

Newbie here. I’m having a similar issue that the firmware update didn’t work. Unlike the OP, my device is stuck in a boot loop. I’ve tried erasing the firmware, but when I go to the serial window part, it just says it’s ā€œformattingā€ and nothing else. If I try to reinstall the firmware, all appears well, but then when it done, the device just goes back into a boot loop. In the FAQ, it mentions reloading a bootloader, but the instructions are seriously lacking.
Any help would be appreciated.
FYI, I have one other T1000-E and I 'm holding off updating the firmware as I don’t want to run into issues again.

Did you use this web flasher? Dont update the firmware until you get it working initially (other one)

Yes. I’ve used it on other devices (RAK/T-Echo) and didn’t have an issue. Before I tried updating it, I was able to get this onto the mesh with my other nodes. My other nodes are running 2.5.15, so I wanted to update the T1000-E’s so all my nodes are on the same firmware. The T-1000’s were the first time I tried wiping the flash first, as they recommend. This is where I’m stuck. I’m suspecting that something happened with the erase and it won’t let a new firmware to be flashed properly.

yes you dont need to wipe the flash first. did you do the reset procedure? press the button and ā€œdouble clickā€ the magnetic connector on and off real fast

different device but same procedure

Thanks, I used this as a guide. After several hours of trial and error, I muddled my way around PowerShell (never used it before) and several installations of Python, I ended up getting the T1000 in a working condition.
I then updated the other T1000 to the new firmware without doing an erase and it too is now fully operational.

I am having this issue. I either get a boot loop, or if I try the troubleshooting and actually get the erase file loaded, all I get in the terminal is ā€œFormating . . .ā€ It never proceeds from that point. I’ve reached out to Seeedstudio’s help and haven’t gotten any assistance. I’ve also reached out in the Discord, and was immediately asked for bitcoin from an admin, so I stopped trying there. This thread looks to be the most promising for assistance, but I am unable to figure out how to proceed. If someone could just point me in the right direction. I am extremely grateful for any assistance.

Thank you,

Dave

do you have any information regarding the admin> what was the name?

the experts are on weekend… can you be more specific on what you did to break it and how you tried to fix it… you used meshtactic flasher?

First off: Thank you so much for replying! I am very pleased.

Second: I actually fixed it about an hour ago! It was dead for right at a month. I kept screwing around with Python and the procedure until I figured out how to restore it. I was very surprised once it finally booted that all of my settings were still in it. This thread didn’t tell me how to fix it, but it gave me just enough information to get me to the solution. So thank you for helping here in the past.

Finally: I do not recall exactly who the admin was. The minute ā€œdo you have a crypto wallet key so we can confirm your deviceā€ was typed I dropped the ban hammer on him. Sadness. Seemed nice enough. :man_shrugging:t3:

Thanks again for the assistance.

Dave
