I know the T1000-E has a GPS in it, and I can see the position log in Meshtastic, but it only ever shows the latest position. How do I get it to actually “Log” where it has been short of buying a second one and sending the info there so that a separate app can record it?
Under the “Node” tab at the bottom on an Iphone select your device. Open it. Scroll down. It’s down below the weather. There will be an option for Logging or Log. I"m not sure the interface works the same for Android systems.
I’m facing the same problem. In Meshtastic I can see the position log of all nodes but the one I’m connected to with the phone. I’m using Meshtastic app for Android version 2.7.13 and I can’t see any option in the node details related to logging positions.
Any one knows how to fix this?
Also, I would like to have a log of all positions received by the GPS, not only the ones that were transmitted to the mesh.
I was wondering about this as well. From what I’ve seen, Meshtastic appears to focus more on sharing and displaying the latest position rather than acting as a full GPS track logger.
Does the device itself actually store historical GPS fixes anywhere, or are older positions simply discarded once a newer fix is available?
If there isn’t built-in logging, it would be nice to have an option to record all GPS positions locally on the device or in the Android app, especially for tracking routes and analyzing coverage after a trip.
