I bought a RPI 4 mic array (hat) and would like to use it not directly plugged into the RPI. I would rather use it 10-15 cm away from the RPi itself and connect it via a cable (40 pin IDE Cable) or direct wiring of the needed contacts… Now here’s my problem:
If I connect it through a cable, the PI doesn’t recognize the device.
If I plug it directly into the GPIO header, it works fine.
Is there no way to connect the hat with a cable instead of plugging it in directly?
Or were just all my cables faulty?!
Ok. Sry for the post, seems to have been a wiring problem on my side 
Hmm. I’ve got a third (not at once) cable connected. It’s approximately 20cm long. And now I can dress the LEDs but can’t seem to connect the mics…
Is cable length significant for the mic operation?
