Question about Software for Seeed ATMEL AVRISP STK500 USB ISP Programmer (105990010)

Thank you for your support.
One of our customer is planning to purchase the Seeed Technology ATMEL AVRISP STK500 USB ISP Programmer (105990010).

He would like to use it to write firmware for LTE communication devices from a Windows PC.

  1. Does this device include any software for writing firmware from a PC?

  2. If not, are there any tools available online for download?

  3. According to the datasheet, it works with AVR Studio or WINAVR (GCC). Are these considered outdated? Has this been replaced by Microsoft Visual Studio?

  4. Could you let us know what software is currently available and whether it is free to download from the Internet?
