Power Seeeduino v1.1 using 5V and GND pins

Is it possible to power a Seeeduino v1.1 using a regulated 5V supply by using directly the 5V and GND pins on the header? I am asking because in the Seeeduino wiki it says that v2.12 added the ability of using a “Second power supply for 5V direct input. [Caution] USE 5V ONLY!” so I am not sure if using the header pins is safe or not.

Second power supply for 5V direct input. [Caution] USE 5V ONLY!
you can supply for 5 v to seeeduino 2.21 by connecting jumper to Vin.But 5v only.
