Last week, we were happy to meet Dr. Kai Bruns from the Mohammed bin Rashid Initiative for Global Prosperity here at Chaihuo x.factory, the maker space created by Seeed. And during the meeting, we discussed the future collaborations between Seeed/Chaihuo x.factory and the Initiative! The Initiative brings together the world’s leading innovators from different sectors to form a community dedicated to spreading global prosperity through the art of ‘making’. By launching the Global Maker Challenge at the recent UNGA, this online platform offers a great opportunity for ‘makers’ and innovators to connect and collaborate, wherever you are in the world, to solve real-world problems affecting people’s lives.

· Rural Transformation and Zero Hunger: How can farmers in less developed countries sustainably increase food and cash crop yields?
· Sustainable Energy: How do the millions of people living in rural and isolated communities get access to low carbon energy?
· Digital Divide and Digital Literacy: How can people in remote areas access and use reliable and affordable internet connectivity?
· Sustainable Cities: How can cities leverage technology to reduce the spread of infectious diseases and prevent the next pandemic?
