LED Circuit on Respeaker Core V2

Does anyone know the part number of the LEDs used on the ReSpeaker Core V2 board?

Thanks!

I don’t have the exact part number off‑hand, but on the ReSpeaker Core V2, the LEDs are usually small SMD indicator LEDs (likely 0805 or 1206 package) used for status/activity signals. If anyone here has done a BOM read‑out or has the schematic/BOM for that board, could you share the exact LED part number or footprint details?

Thanks, I think I’ve found either the exact part or something very close - APA 102-2020-256-6A.

I’ve asked about the schematics for the ReSpeaker Core V2 before but for an Open Source product, Seeed aren’t very forthcoming at releasing any details about the circuits. Although if you look on this forum, a couple of individual schematics have been shared… yet not a complete set, which is incredibly useful.

I am in the process of reverse-engineering the board. I’m close to having a complete BoM and this is one of the last pieces of the puzzle. It could have been so much simpler but hey-ho.

That LED part (APA102-2020-256-6A) sounds about right, it’s a tiny addressable RGB LED, which makes sense for the Core V2 indicators.

It’s a bit frustrating that Seeed doesn’t release the full schematics, but it’s impressive that you’re almost done reverse-engineering the BOM. Once you have it all, it’ll be super useful for anyone doing mods or repairs.

If you’re able to share even part of it, I’m sure a lot of people here would really appreciate it.

It did take a while to find that particular version of the APA102 LEDs but I got there in the end. I think it’s also used on one of the other ReSpeaker boards, which I only found out afterwards.

It’s frustrating that they’ve only shared certain pages of the schematics on certain forum posts. Given that they’ve done that, it’d just make sense to release all pages.

Yeah, I’ll be more than happy to share the schematics and PCB files once they’re complete. I’m introducing some upgrades too on a V2 - like better WiFi, camera support and maybe a more performant RockChip CPU with DDR4 but that’ll be coming later in the year.
