IMX477 Driver for Jetson Orin NX and A603 Carrier board

Dear Seeed Studio Team,

I am reaching out after weeks of struggling to get the IMX477 camera module working on your A603 carrier board with the Jetson Orin NX. Despite purchasing two of these carrier boards based on your documentation and product information, I have encountered major issues that remain unresolved.

Your official documentation states that the A603 board supports IMX477 using JetPack 6.0 with jetson-io configuration. However, this is not accurate in practice. I have spent over three weeks testing nearly every JetPack version and patch method available, including:

  • Repeated flashing of the board
  • Testing JetPack 6.0, 6.1, and 6.2 with overlay adjustments
  • Installing Arducam drivers (install_full.sh, .deb packages)
  • Manually editing and building device trees

None of these approaches resolved the issue. The IMX477 camera is never recognized, while IMX219 works only under specific configurations. More importantly, JetPack 5.x is entirely unusable on the A603 board due to critical errors:


Summary of JetPack 5.x Issues:

  • On JetPack 5.1.2 (L4T 35.4.1):
    Flashing fails with Waiting for target to boot up..., even after correct preparation, USB recovery mode, and clean NVMe.
  • On JetPack 5.1.1 (L4T 35.3.1):
    Flash process fails with RuntimeError 3: USB delay, making communication with the board unreliable.
  • On JetPack 5.1.4 (L4T 35.5.0):
    The binarize.sh script throws errors due to random device files inside rootfs/dev, stopping the build process.

I have also posted on your community forums but received no response. I am currently under extreme time pressure to deliver a working system, and this situation has cost me valuable time and effort.

Please answer the following questions urgently:

  1. Does the A603 board officially support the IMX477 module with any JetPack version (including JP 6.1 or 6.2)?
  2. Is there a working overlay, DTB, or configuration method that enables IMX477 support on A603?
  3. If the board is not compatible, why was this not clearly stated in your documentation?
  4. What are my options now — replacement, refund, or workaround?
