I just got a grove sensor kit, but I unclear about power? There is no cable to power it in the box? Does it/can it draw power from the ESP32S3?
Or do I go need order something else to make this work… a bit disappointed this small detail is absent from the documentation!
Should power direct from the board. 2 of the wires on the grove connection are +/- power other 2 are data
what product exactly?.. in any event the USB cable can provide the power for most all sensors,… yes the XIAO can manage the power… No i would not recomend providing power via the Grove connectors…
Seeed Studio XIAO Starter Kit - all Seeed Studio XIAO series Development boards supported, XIAO Series Expansion board, 9 Grove Modules, Additional Controllable Components, presented with XIAO Series Courses
The seeed Studio is the lower of the two boards in the second image
yes! the coin cell is only to power the real time clock module… you could power from that port you indicated if it is a supply port… but MAKE SURE the polarity is correct… as it is known that the port on the XIAO board is OPPOSITE to other ‘STANDARD’ connectors
Thanks everyone. I found a video showing the board being powered directly via the Seeed ESP32C3 chip I guess.
you cn connect a 3.7v lipi battery to the port you showed… remember to check the polarity… i have to build a adapter pigtail for my batteries the usb will charge the battery if you have the switch in the right position for it
