Grove Base for XIAO (SKU 103020312) – PMIC upgraded to BQ24070, but SKU unchange

Hi all,

Seeed just published a PCN (PCN20251230-001, issued Dec 30, 2025) for the Grove Base for XIAO (SKU#103020312): the PMIC has been changed from the ETA ETA6003 to the TI BQ24070, for better “power path” management robustness.

This is actually a nice upgrade — the BQ24070 should give more reliable power path behavior for battery-powered setups. My concern is that the SKU wasn’t changed, so there’s no way to tell, from the part number alone, which PMIC revision you’re actually receiving when you order. Depending on stock, you could get either version without any indication on the listing.

Does anyone know:

  • If there’s a way to identify the revision from packaging/date code/silkscreen before opening the box?
  • Where the new BQ24070 revision is currently in stock / being shipped from?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi there,

So wouldn’t be the first time a part has gone obsolete and supply’s run dry,
there is a monetary component as well. Chances are they have no old ones left in Either warehouse, If you use this device ,which I do A lot  it would often be out of stock. I don’t see a SKU# change coming on this one, However word :speaking_head:  on the street is they are working on a REV2
Stay tuned…
