Hi there,

So I get you need Help. The unit comes with pre-installed jet-pack.
Please limit your post to ONE thread, NO need to spam the same question to 3 threads.

The Whole Nvidia Eco system and JetPacks are well behind in the documentation. I’m sure you had to see that before you purchased it.

Start by reading up on the differences in the procedures required to update the Seeed Studio Clones, and They are “clones” but not exact clones, the Device tree and other drivers are NOT the same as Nvidia units and so are the procedures for updating and upgrading, there is a difference. ie. if you follow an Nvidia procedure on a Seeed Unit it will fail(files missing, etc). remember they are only clones of the Core REFERENCE design fathered by Nvidia. I/O and Peripherals can be left up to the Vendor. (device tree, wifi drivers , etc)

Certainly others have succeeded but you need to investigate which models and which JP’s are effected. The wiki gets updated but it is lagging as I said the landscape and goal posts keep moving. and What a debacle on the “Super Mode” and the number of uniformed users assuming ALL Nano family units supported it. They stormed the castle with pitch forks and 4 letter words. demanding support and they Paid Good money ? yada, yada…

M|y . .02 Bottom line with the AI sector and these devices is READ the fine Print. :+1: but anyway, reply on this thread and we can keep it top side for more eyes , Someone will respond. :crossed_fingers:

Send an Email to Seeed_Kevin or to Citric
also what errors ? , which steps ?
You will need to provide more info to get any quality help.

They are Great devices and powerful if handled and setup correctly. Also compared to the Originals the “price” is lowering the barrier to entry but the learning, effort curve is more steep, not as much Plug and Play operation or one-liner updates.

I always thought the AGX Orin was the most compatible of the fam, but I could me mistaken.

Hi,
thanks for your answer, i already own other jetson based devices in our lab, and i got no trouble upgrading to JP6.x
this is my first post on this forum, but i will consider your comment about multiple thread, i am publishing on many forums and always respect this rule.

The SeeedStudio wiki page show exactly what Jetpack is available for this device, so i cannot miss the correct one, in this case, the 6.2.3. and i did follow the wiki page, step by step.

i know the Orin AGX is a great device, and i believe SeeedStudio developpers have made their custom setup user friendly. i will send the log file by email in hope i can get some support here. Without JP6x, i will not be able to use this device to run my apps.

i will be back soon, to share the result of this situation, and the solution for other users. Thanks a lot
Regards

Hi there,

Excellent… :+1: So one thing if you tried the Ubuntu Host method ?
it only works on that specific Version listed in the matrix, heads up.

The seeediners I know are working on a more turnkey Process but I have not seen any update thus far. I’ll be watching too. :face_with_monocle:

Hi,
after a couple of hours, and just before sending the request to the support team, i did redo the flashing process…looking at each details of the wiki page… i did identify some errors in there, mainly in step 3 of the flashing process. For sure the SeeedStudio team will make the necessary corrections on their wiki page!

and… “Flash is successful”
Jetpack 6.2 L4T 36.4.3 is install on the SSD and run smoothly (as it should)

To answer you @PJ_Glasso , yes, i used the ubuntu host method, and this is the only one that works! so there is no way to flash the device using the SDKmanager obviously as it needs some packages from the SeedStudio to download and merge.

So, for other users, please check the wiki page, and make the appropriate fix, regarding your path setup

Now, a new question for you:
on my other jetson units, i did the last upgrade from JP6.2/L4T36.4.3 to 6.2.1(rev1)/L4T36.4.7, that fix Docker installation and some other issues. this is done with a simple apt upgrade… Can the SeeedStudio dev team confirm this will not break the setup? thanks

Hi there,

Great! you got it going & Glad to hear the WIKi was indeed helpful…
Also AFAIK it may not be published officially but, There is a way using and external NVME carrier and some other refinements to use the SDK manager to upgrade. YMMV :v: they fixed the HDMI and WiFi drivers by adding those after or some slickery…

I’m certain we will hear more on this front.

i am so happy with this result…
the last question and following up of this topic is “can i upgrade this device with the last 6.2.1(rev1)/L4T36.4.7 without risk or break for the seeedstudio components?”

this last release gives a fix for docker containers as well as other features… please let me know before i proceed. thanks a lot
