Hi all, I’m designing a board that will allow me to swap out as many design parts as I can for the LTC4121. Depending on battery charge rate, solar inout, and a couple others, the external components are changed. I’m trying to make a bare-bones board with minimal components on it so that I can put it on a breadboard and prototype the rest of the board. One of the requirements for the IC is placing the chosen Inductor as close to the chip as possible. That and a couple capacitors are the only ones that I feel should be on the board itself and not on the external breadboard. What I’m having issues with is, what kind of pad (size and spacing) do I put down for a wide selection of inductors? I dont expect an inductance less than 15micro-henries and larger than 100 micro-henries. I would expect to be buying different SMT ceramic inductors or ICs off Arrow or mouser. Should I put thru holes on there as well? Thanks!
