Hi,
I have foolishly fried C3 on my rainbowduino. Can’t see any other obvious damage so I would like to replace the capacitor to see if it still works. Can anyone give me the values for C3?
Cheers,
Scott.

Hi,
C3=47uF
Thanks Icing,
I popped a 47uF electro on there & it seems to work with the RGB matrix now (-: Can’t get it to drive the cube though so I have some more investigating to do.
Cheers,
Scott.
I managed to do the same on one of my rainbowduinos.
As I have one of these capacitors available (http://www.earthshineelectronics.com/capacitors/59-electrolytic-capacitor-047f.html), I will try it and see if it works.
I am not an electronics person so can anywone tell me if this capacitor is not compatible or what would the implications be if I used it?
Is any of these two an identicall replacement?
Thanks,
M
For the information of anyone who has a similar problem, I replaced the tantalum (c3) capacitor with the electrolitic capacitor and the board is now functional.
I ll let you know if any problems occur in the future.
