Charging a lipo battery 3.7V

Hi!
I have a seed xiao sense board. I would like to solder a lipo battery (3.7 60mAh) on the BAT pins 3 nd 2. This battery is rechargeable. If then I connect the Xiao Sense to my laptop with a USBC cable, is the battery going to charge automatically without having to upload any code to the board?

What does this mean?

If it is soldered to the battery pad on the back, it will charge even if the code is not uploaded.
