Can Seeed Odyssey boot without HDMI/keyboard?

Hi all.

I’ve been using my Seeed Odyssey as a little self hosting rig, and it works GREAT! With one unfortunately rather serious flaw I’d love to find a work-around for.

The device seems unable or unwilling to boot unless I have both an HDMI video and keyboard attached to it.

This is problemetic because the area I keep my servers in doesn’t have a readily accessible.

Does anyone know of a way around this?

Thanks in advance!

Pls post more details, which versions you bought and which OS you installed.

Sure thing!

It’s the Seeed Studio Odyssey Blue J4105.

Trying to use it as a Linux server so I’ve tried Ubuntu and Proxmox. Neither will boot without an HDMI and keyboard cable connected.

No problem here
You can refer this: Runing virtual machine - Proxmox

Pls update the latest BIOS and EC firmware.

I did and it works great. Thank you very much!

I think I may have also not been holding the blue power button in for long enough.

In any case my little server now boots just fine with no video or keyboard so I can move it off my crowded desk and into the next room with my other servers

Thank you!
