Bluetooth Module Addition for 110110193

Dear Seeed Team,

Thank you for your support.

Could you please confirm whether it is possible to add a Bluetooth module to part number 110110193?

If Bluetooth functionality can be added, could you also advise:

  • Which Bluetooth modules are supported?
  • Whether any additional antennas or accessories are required
  • If there are any driver or software requirements

Thank you for your assistance.

Kind regards,

Takashi

This one, SO For the Seeed Studio reComputer Industrial J3011 (Part Number 110110193), adding Bluetooth functionality requires using an M.2 Key E wireless module. Because the Jetson Orin Nano module itself does not integrate onboard wireless, connectivity is expanded via the carrier board’s standard M.2 Key E slot.

Supported Modules & Hardware Requirements

  • Recommended Modules: Standard M.2 Key E Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combo cards natively supported by the Linux kernel and NVIDIA JetPack work best. Commonly deployed options include:

    • Intel AX210 / Intel AX200 (Wi-Fi 6/6E + Bluetooth 5.2/5.3) — widely used and well-supported out-of-the-box by Ubuntu/JetPack kernel drivers.

    • Realtek-based M.2 Key E cards (such as the RTL8822CE or RTL8852BE), which Seeed frequently utilizes across their Jetson ecosystem.

  • Antennas & Accessories: You will need an M.2 Key E card that includes or is paired with IPEX/MHF4 to SMA antenna cables and external antennas. Because the industrial aluminum enclosure provides heavy RF shielding, the antennas must be routed through the enclosure’s designated antenna knockouts/ports to maintain a reliable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi link.

  • Software & Drivers

  • Drivers: Most standard Intel and Realtek cards have open-source drivers included in modern Ubuntu/Linux kernels. Depending on the exact JetPack version pre-installed on the unit, firmware packages (linux-firmware) may need to be updated via apt to ensure the Bluetooth HCI controller initializes properly.

  • Configuration: Once physical installation is complete, Bluetooth can be managed directly via standard Linux utilities (bluetoothctl or standard desktop network settings if a GUI environment is active).
