Has anyone successfully used this connector for usb3? We can get usb2 from it, but so far usb3 eludes us.
Relatedly, are there any off the shelf adapter boards & cables which can be used with this 20 pin zif connector?

No. We did get USB2.0 working correctly, but between the lack of reply, the lack of (at the time) proper documentation, potential noise issues with the richtek power rails, and what seemed like interesting BSP choices we moved away from using this board in our prototype.
I cannot say that it is impossible to get USB3 from this connector, it could be that we didn’t spend enough effort on it, but we did create a port adapter to plug in to this port which we could never enumerate as usb3. The port adapter did enumerate correctly with an alternate device we designed to the same pinout
