Took this XIAO rig out for a wardrive other day and seemed to track really well with the track recording in LocusMap that was run concurrently on phone. Greatest range was 1.5mi across bay and through a fair amount of ground clutter (buildings). Sender/stationary node and mobile/receiver/logger node never got higher that 6ft above ground during the process. There are a lot of other factors to consider here, but, hey, so far I am satisfied.
Next run will be swapping roles for these units and checking the GT-U7 GPS module stuffed in the Heltec V3.2 N30 case as the mobile unit. Surprisingly, the GPS was an easy add-on, other than mounting the antenna out by the SMA connxn.
