I’m currently designing a custom wearable PCB that integrates a 1.28" round TFT display.
The display I’m targeting is the one used in Seeed Studio’s round TFT module, with the following characteristics:
Controller/driver IC: GC9A01
Interface: 4-wire SPI
Resolution: 240x240
Shape: Round
Power: 3.3V logic
Target use: wearable device, so small size and low profile are important
I found a reference to a display with the part number GJX0128A4-15HN, which seems to match exactly what I need, but I’m having trouble identifying a reliable supplier or source for this exact part or a 100% compatible equivalent.
I decided not to use the Seeed Round Display due to a few limitations. First, when used with the XIAO ESP32S3, the device automatically powers on during battery charging, which can lead to overheating issues.
Also, I’m aiming to minimize the overall size of the device by designing a custom PCB with only the necessary components.
Ideally, I’d like to integrate the same round screen used in the Seeed display directly into my design — but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find the exact display module they use as a standalone component.
I would agree, it’s a nice display but the PCB is WACK, period.
Too big to use in small designs, not a good execution of a display, the power, the battery connection (prevents mounting on pcb) YUCK Time for a redesign or better design IMO I use it a lot, Code wise it’s pretty stout it’s a nice panel, I would check the parts catalog on Easy_EDA, they have access to all the seeed raw components, have several LIBRARIES for parts and you could try sending an email to the seeed fusion service folks , see what they can offer. they do custom designs also.
The screen used in the Seeed Studio module is listed as GJX0128A4-15HN on their wiki, but I haven’t been able to find it on EasyEDA.
I’m looking for the same display or a similar one with the same 15-pin 0.3 mm pitch FPC connector.
I’ll take a run at it later today, post my results. I have a new project that would need the same as You a custom pcb with an SPI and I2c (touch)
interface only is what I need. RTC would be great but NOT in its present method or tech.
Seeed should get it back to the lab and release a maker display w/touch only version, that would be GREAT!

Stay tuned. btw (RUMOR ) round E-ink display is coming,
Sounds great! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Yeah, I’m in the same boat — I just need SPI for the screen and I2C for the touch, nothing more.
Totally agree — Seeed should definitely consider making a barebones “maker” version of the display: just the screen and touch panel, no battery charging circuit, no extras. Would make integration into custom PCBs so much easier.
