XIAO nRF52840 stopped working after attempting to charge

I tried to charge the lipo battery connected to XIAO nRF52840, and after that, Xiao stopped working at all. It stopped being recognized when connected to my computer, even after pressing the reset button. It also started generating so much heat when it’s connected.
Is there any way to troubleshoot it, or is it totally broken.

Try it with nothing (not even a battery) connected to the XIAO other than USB. If it gets hot, then it is most likely broken.
What battery did you connect and how did you charge it? Are there any problems with soldering?

The battery and XIAO are both soldered on PCB which makes it almost impossible to take them apart.
I charged it using a GaN charger through C to C connection with a thunderbolt 4 cable.

The nRF52840 itself never gets hot, so I think the on-board charge controller is overheating or the soldering is bad and shorted somewhere.
Maybe measuring the voltages on the 5V and 3V3 pins of the XIAO will give you some information.
If disassembly is not possible, further troubleshooting is difficult.

Should I measure the voltage while connected to the charger or while on battery.

In both cases, measurements provide more information.
