XIAO nRF52840 (Sense) short red led blinking and no charge

I noticed that my XIAO nRF52840 (Sense) was getting extremely hot so I put it on the bootloader mode and left it to cool before coming back to check.

I tried connecting to the PC in bootloader mode; the PC recognizes the device and I can push code to it.

However, when I reset/restart (while collected to PC), instead of charging/starting up, I’m getting a short intermittent red led light (no green light).

I’m looking to see if that’s a specific error code I can debug or if I just ended up frying my chip somehow.

Hi there,
Do you have a battery connected?

@PJ_Glasso - yes I do. Would you recommend I disconnect it first? I assumed it completely drained out but that might be a wrong assumption on my part.

Hi there,
Check the polarity, AFAIK if you hooked it backwards and plugged USB in the the Charging chip in the Xiao may be Toasted. YMMV depending how long it was actually connected .
The chip will work as normal but NOT charge batteries anymore. :face_with_peeking_eye:
