uploding problems with the atmega

I am trying to upload a sketch to the atmega168 (i bought from yuo some weeks
age the chip worked for two weeks and now it’s making problems)and it doesn’t seem to work
when i try to upload i get this error
avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x0000
0x0c != 0x00
and when i try verbose i get that the verification receives zeros instead of the program

Hi arnonh:
We have got several report on similar issue, like this one:http://seeedstudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=27&sid=9431aebaa713e6e6d13a4072ed67b027

Would you please try re-burn the bootloader?

We are not sure about the root cause yet, all Seeeduino shipped out after burning bootloader and testing. Maybe static brings problem during dry winter time.

Please let us know if any new, we will follow the case closely. Thank you!

I have tryed to reburn the bootloader
With bitbang no the ft232 and it didnt help it gave me a connection error
I am not home right now so i cant post the exact error but
I remember i recived rc=-1 and cannot connect

arnoth - please let us know if there is need for replacement or further assistance. Thanks!

After some more investigation with some new chips i ordered from you this month
it seems that the problem is with the UartSB

I’m having a similar problem. It had been working fine for a few months but now I cant upload. I’ve tried on 3 computers (2 OSX, 1 Windows) and it fails with the following.

avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding

I’ve tried the using the bit bang guide but get the following when i run it.

C:\serjtag-0.3\avrdude-serjtag\binary>avrdude -c diecimila -P ft0 -p m168 -t
avrdude: BitBang OK
avrdude: pin assign miso 3 sck 5 mosi 6 reset 7
avrdude: drain OK

ft245r: bitclk 230400 -> ft baud 115200
avrdude: ft245r_program_enable: failed
avrdude: initialization failed, rc=-1
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
this check.
avrdude done. Thank you.

Any advise?

Hi,

For UartSB_v1.0, you should use the attached config file.

Albert
avrdude.rar (14.3 KB)

I’ve used the file you provided but I still get the same error. The reset LED blinks rapidly and then stay on.

avrdude: BitBang OK
avrdude: pin assign miso 4 sck 5 mosi 6 reset 7
avrdude: drain OK

ft245r: bitclk 4800 -> ft baud 2400
avrdude: ft245r_program_enable: failed
avrdude: initialization failed, rc=-1
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
this check.
avrdude done. Thank you.

Just to verify my wiring here is what i am using.

UART ICSP
DTR pin 1
DSR pin 3
DCD pin 4
RI pin 5

Is this correct?
