Underground Sensor cap

Hi. We would like to use a seeed sensor cap for a project that requires us to bury the sensor underground as much as possible. Do you know what percent needs to be above ground in order for the antenna to communicate? Cheers.

Hi Kiersten,
Thank you for your interest in SenseCAP. May I know more about your project? What parameters do you need to monitor? Do you need to bury both the sensor probe and the data logger underground?
For example, the SenseCAP LoRaWAN Soil Moisture and Temperature Sensor has a 2.5meter cable. You can bury the sensor probe under the ground, and the data logger can remain on the ground, which won’t affect the communication. If it’s not convenient for you to share the project info here, please feel free to email us or schedule a voice call(I will send you a private message with my email and Skype info). We’d like to learn more about the requirements and see how the products can serve your project better.
