Ultrasonic Range Sensor with 3.3V Arduino?

I bought the SeeedStudio ultrasonic range sensor (SEN136B5B) and the SeeedStudio Stalker V2, which is a 3.3V board. When I use USB to power the Stalker, the sensor works fine (supplied VCC at 5V from USB5V pin). However when I use a LIPO battry to power the board (3.7V), and a voltage-step-up chip to ensure VCC on the sensor is still 5V, the Stalker reboots whenever it tries to use the sensor. I assume that this is due to the sensor signal pin being 3.3V instead of 5V, right? Can this sensor work with the Stalker board?

Thanks.
