68000 ruled the way after the 8085, & Z80… Changed a few “12Ax7’s” in my day too. 
Awesome. Used to take the vacuum tubes to Army/Navy store to test them on the tube tester machine with my dad for our Console TV…was the size of a coffin. Enough Hum and Buzz to fill the room.
