Sensecap T1000 will not appear in Meshtastic Bluetooth tab

Hi. Just got a T1000 today, followed the video regarding setting up with Meshtastic. My T1000 will not come on by just pressing the button, I have to hold it for 3 seconds, the light comes on and I get the tone. Will not show up in Meshtastic on an iPhone (13 Mini) or iPad Pro. Both are running latest versions of IOS. Will not show up in Bluetooth settings either. T1000 is fully charged.

I can connect to the SenseCraft app however. I was able to reset the device to factory settings and reboot device, all via Bluetooth connection within the app.

What am I missing? Why can’t I connect to Meshtastic?

is bluetooth enabled on your phone? did you connect using the pin? did you try forgetting the device in blurthooth and re-pair?

Yes, Bluetooth is enabled on phone. I can’t forget device because it never appears in the first place.
I’ve deleted and reinstalled Meshtastic, no change. I can connect the device to the SenseCraft app. I just noticed that while the device is connected to this app, if I go to my Bluetooth settings it shows up in the list as connected (name is the serial number( but there is no i icon next to it, so I can’t do anything with it. When I close the app and go back to Bluetooth setting it is no longer in the list.
I’ve even tried discovering the T1000 on a PC, never appears. At this point it seems the device can only be discovered through the SenseCraft app…

did you try forcing a reboot from the meshtastic website https://flasher.meshtastic.org/

connect with the usb cable

It sounds like you might have a T1000-A or T1000-B? Those are not compatible with Meshtastic currently. You would need the T1000-E. Which model did you get? The A/B are LoraWan compatible and use SenseCap.
These are all BLE devices, so will not show up in the iPhone Bluetooth menu until they are paired using an app (either SenseCap for A/B devices or Meshtastic for the E device.)

You are correct. After looking at a few videos and seeing them plug in with the usb cable, I noticed their connectors had 4 pins, my connector only has 2. Then paid closer attention that all the documentation was for the E model, realized I had the A model. Oh well, my fault for not researching enough before pressing the buy button.

yes… it is unfortunate… i will ask seeed if it is a way to upgrade the firmware… but i think the 4 pin connector is needed to upgrade firmware
