So We feel your pain, many have come before you 
Due to the proprietary nature of some of it, the info isnāt public domain all the way.
Itās a relatively new area for seeed too, the partnership with SenseCap is evolving also. be patient and in these cases it is important to do a little pre research on the newest IOT stuff with the understanding it is a Work in progress. 
Your situation is on the rare sideā¦ If you read through some of the sensecap threads you will get a better understanding. For Me, the App is what needs work not the hardware, IMO.
