SD Shield Issues

Let me preface this by stating I am an absolute beginer with this stuff! Anytricks or tips on working with the SD Shield? I tried running the demo from the FileLogger link, but nothing happens. Id did manage to get a Fail to Append message eventually. I looked all over for an example, or even a mention of this shiled but couldn’t find anything.
