I also tried the opposite direction, and was able to get a few packets to go through. That is I saw the rf errors after typing for a line of ~25 characters, then 4 chars came out, then nothing then 4 later chars, then an rf error, then one more set of 4. I see this only if I keep sending characters, and the reception is a small fraction the input.
