I recently got a ReSpeaker USB Mic Array and I am having an issue with its output. Certain sounds sound distorted, as if it is clipping. I tried lowering the volume but there is no volume control in alsamixer.
Here I played the same sound three times with the ReSpeaker and with a cheap C-Media USB sound card and recorded both with my phone. The distortion is more apparent in real life but I think you can even hear it in the recordings:
