Rainbowduino controlling 8 RGB LEDs (Not a matrix)

I have purchased 2 Rainbowduinos (V3.0b) with the view to control 16 RGB leds (not an array/matrix).

What is the best way to do this? I have approached it from multiple angles but I have found very little support.

hi, actully, a rainbowduino can control 64 RGB LEDs. you can ref the rainbowdino wiki. if you design the LEDs by yourself , maybe you need to understand the raibowduino shematic and get to know the basis control method.
