Hi team,
We are using LinkIt Smart 7688 and find that about 30% of the modules are
faulty. We find that the LinkIt module overheats when we are trying to
flash and also we aren’t able to reboot.
We need to understand the reasons of why these issues crop up while using
LinkIts.
Regards,
Rahul
Hi Rahul,
1. How many Linkit Smart 7668 do you have?
2. What about the order ID?
3. As you mentioned that “We find that the LinkIt module overheats when we are trying to flash and also we aren’t able to reboot.“, what do you flash?
4. Can they boot with the factory setting, please? thanks.

Hello Bill,
We have more than 750 LinkIts deployed with the latest order being #
4000003830.
We are trying to flash firmware v0.9.3 into the LinkIt only if it not
already is v0.9.3.

Hi Rahul,
How to you update the firmware?
If you follow the web update process and fail, you can try the usb driver process by following below process.
Hi Bill,
It’s done using the USB driver process itself. I’ll send out the video to
you in some time.

Hi
Rahul
By the way, I just break the 7688 intentionally(power off the board during firmware upgrading) and then i went through the process once again. the board is recovered and i can use the ssh to log into the board.
So if you can not boot, you can try the firmware upgrade process once again. It can solve the issue.
Thanks
