Problem with battery LED

Hi!

I’ve just received my quad and after playing around a few days, I’m thinking that it is a really nice tool and exactly fits my needs for playing with microcontrolers.

But I’m having a small problem and it is an annoying one:
The red battery led is always on and it drains my battery without using the quad.

this means:
if power switch is OFF and usb-cable is not connected: red led is ON
if power switch is ON and usb-cable is not connected: red led is ON
if power switch is OFF and usb-cable is connected: red led is OFF
if power switch is ON and usb-cable is connected: red led is ON but dimmed

I think that this behavior is inverted to what it normally should do?

I’ve also tried other firmwares but no change.

Any suggestions?

These indicate the battery charger IC may be faulty. You might want to consider getting a warranty replacement if it is new.

thanx for the info, haven’t found that thread through search, but it is exactly what was wrong.

ordered some LTC4054ES5-4.2, desoldered U14 (btw there was just a chip with un8hx, no ltc4045)
soldered the new one on the board and now everything seems to work fine.
