Problem connecting Serial LCD

Problem connecting Serial LCD.
I hooked Grove Serial LCD v.1.1 LCD23154P to serial port (white connector near the same I2C) mega328P v.3.0. without any shield.
Is that correct?

Then recorded in the catalog of the library of ARDUINO v1.0.4 software next files for serial LCD:
1.Hello! Example, еtс.
2. Serial LCD.h version at 15 march 2012 for arduino 1.0 IDE by Jimbo.we
3.Serial LCD.ccp by Jimbo.we
All files from recomended for Serial LCD v.1.1 LCD23154P from wiki page.

Then ARDUINO v1.0.4 uploaded “Hello! example” file
and got error:

Binary sketch size: 3.830 bytes (of a 30.720 byte maximum)
avrdude: stk500_loadaddr(): (a) protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x55
avrdude: stk500_paged_load(): (a) protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x74
avrdude: stk500_cmd(): programmer is out of sync

Serial LCD on nothing only light both leds.

When you connect the 3-axis compas - everything works (without Serial LCD).

What did I do wrong?

Today I read some topics according SerialLCD.
Realized that the USB and SerialLCD connected to the same port.
So I connected an external power supply, loaded scetch 'hello … ", no errors!
Unplugged USB cable,
plugged SerialLCD to Serial port PD0 & PD1.
On the SerialLCD lit both LEDs.
I pressed the reset button on SerialLCD.
But nothing does not appear on the display of SerialLCD! :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

The Serial LCD should be connected to digital 11 and digital 12, because we use software serial port.

Thanks!
I already close this problem!!!

I hope to use the Ultrasonic ranger in conjunction with a GrovePi and a Raspberry Pi as a water level meter. Problem is I need the distance between the GrovePi and the Ultrasonic ranger to be fairly substantial. What is the maximum length for the connecting cable which will still maintain reliable operation. Would it help to use twisted pair cabling.\

we don’t have a test, but the maximum length i have used is 50cm, i don’t think the length can up to 1m. Maybe you can have a try first.
