ODYSSEY - X86J4105800 able to run 64 bit os?

Hi,

Is the ODYSSEY - X86J4105800 able to run with 64 bit operating system ?

If no, I have to delete my order.

With best regards.

ODYSSEY - X86J4105800 fully supports 64-bit operating systems. Here are some reference documents. @nl.smart

Thanks for your answer.

I already found this link, congratulation to your company a lot of documentation is disposable on your website.

have a good day, I hope to receive my purchase as soon as possible

I just installed Ubuntu 18.04 LTS today, 64-bit. I checked the documentation on Intel’s site for the Celeron processor, and it stated that it supports 64-bit OS…so that’s what I went with. And of course with 8gb of RAM, it would suggest that it’s not a 32-bit OS of course.

That said though, Ubuntu 18.04 seems to run very very well on this hardware. It’s actually quite snappy with 8gb of RAM. That’s not to say that Windows 10 isn’t, but I am loving Ubuntu on this thing already–and I just got it going. It’s so nice to have an SSH server running on this thing, so it can sit down in my lab while I’m sitting in my living room recliner, experimenting!

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback, I would like to change the topic title
I agree with your argument (8 gb ram…)
I’m waiting my box, I’ll try to install a multi boot, windows linux, but in deed linux will be my main os.

Mine took just over 3 weeks to arrive, but once it was shipped then it arrived here in the US in only 5 days! So hopefully your board will show up soon.

As to Windows vs Linux, I do prefer Linux when I’m doing most things. But Windows is a necessary evil I suppose, as a few applications I run (like Solidworks) only runs on Windows. So…I tolerate it. LOL!
