Can anybody explain the licensing feature? I looked in the source code but I don’t quite understand. What happens if I completely take over the device and use my own bootloader? Can I do that or is some part of the code protected/non-changeable?
What part you do not understand？And what device would you use by yours own bootloader？Which part would you want to change？

It seems that no part of the system is unchangeable, though the bootloader can probably only be updated through the serial port header. For some stupid reason, there are remnants of license protection in the bootloader. It seems that it doesn’t matter much in practice.
