Hacking OV2640 to improve it

Does OV2640 cameras for MaixDock boards are hackable ?
Is the OV2640 M12 compatible ?

I want to know if I can:

  1. Remove the IR filter of the default lens.
  2. Change the lens to a lower focal distance or a bigger angle of vision .

Hope some one could share its experience hacking the camera.
