Hello.
I got my H68K-V2 today.
I noticed that there is a newer version of the firmware on the web site then shipped one.
The site for info :
My shipped version : OpenWRT R22.11.13
Version on the web : OpenWRT R22.11.18
I tried both SD Micro Card and flashing to eMMC directly using Type C cable.
Both flash attempts were successful but my version after flashing is still OpenWRT R22.11.13
Is there any one on the forum with same problem?
Best regards.
I had the same exact experience. Upgrading OpenWrt using a browser does not work. I have no idea how to flash new firmware onto this device so don’t ask me.
BTW, how do you imagine “both flash attempts were successful” when the firmware wasn’t upgraded?
If your router worked as expected, you should leave it to do its job.
For the following part, expect no support, flashing the new firmware could potentially brick your device. (You have been warned.)
There is a new release of OpenWRT, version R24.07.07, unless your software on OpenWRT has explicit requirements for higher version, otherwise upgrading is not recommended.
Refer to this link to flash the OpenWRT firmware, you can either burn the image to SD card or flash it directly to eMMC.

What about security updates? Is OpenWrt and all the packages included somehow magically immune to software defects that result in vulnerabilities? Software can work as expected whilst having horrible security flaws.
