Grove Analog Light Sensor - Usage for Laser Maze

Hi,
I am trying to use the analog light sensor to build a laser obstacle course: A laser is pointed at the light sensor, when the laser beam is interrupted, a sound is played. My problem is: The measurement difference between when the laser meets the LDR and when it doesn’t is almost non-existent, even if the rest of the room is dark. (About 120-220 with laser and 80-180 without), so the difference cannot be detected. AM I missing something? Is the light sensor not suited to measure a laser beam? Am I doing something wrong?

All help is greatly appreciated!

Jakob

The light sensor is only suitable for measuring visible light, especially visible light in the central band. The central band of the laser is very different from that of sunlight. @hmons
