Is it fair to say the GPS on board the Seeeduino LoRaWAN w/GPS has low accuracy?
We’ve been collecting location data on a few units and have found that:
- the HDOP looks suspect (starts at 0, sometimes just increments, bounces around a bit)

- the altitude varies by 10’s of metres

- the location moves around a area with a radius of about 80m with a stationary device, even when HDOP is <5.

I think maybe it’s handy to have a GPS on board to get the time and rough location, but it’s not much use for sub-10m use.

We’ll be evaluating the Grove GPS next. I hope the SIM28 performs better!

              Hi there,
please try and let us know. i checked SIM28 and L70 datasheet. it looks no big differences.
thanks.

Spectacularly better. Very fast fix (too fast to time), even indoors, and a positional deviation of less than one metre when stationary outdoors.
The instructions on the GroveGPS web page didn’t work though - I had to connect to D3 and change the pins to 3, 4.
