Getting started with J3011

I’m considering getting a J3011 to start playing with llms; I plan to put ubuntu on it, and wondering which llm will work best with the onboard hardware?

Hi there,

And Welcome Here…

SO, if you head over to the WiKi and the Sales page for the device there is a doc’s tab check out the links, and YES with the J3011 you pretty much can pick off the menu Here:

Nice unit Very powerful and appropriate for AI models of all shapes and sizes… :+1:

So my 3011 arrived…and I’m underwhelmed:

  1. I was pleased to see it boot up Ubuntu and went through setup…until it rebooted: it gives the bios splash screen, then just the cursor in the upper left, then that goes away and it’s a black screen forever more

  2. I took it apart to install the wifi antennas (and whoever invented those 1mm antenna wire connectors was a sadist! )…and find the antenna connector wires aren’t long enough for at least one of them, and if they were long enough, the holes in the side of the case are too small for the connectors to fit through.

I can live with 2, as in the long run, I’ll cable it, it was just convenient to start with wifi, if it ever gets that far. Bricking itself is more of a problem. When I get a chance, I’ll try booting from a dvd, but if anyone has other suggestions…

Hi there,
